Garrett Cathcart is the Southeast Regional Director for Team Red, White, and Blue. He is responsible for strategy, growth, and management of the Southeast region as well as for overseeing and mentoring volunteer leaders. Team RWB is non-profit that enriches the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their communities through physical and social activities as well as leadership development.
Prior to Team RWB, Garrett served for 9 years with the United States Army’s Cavalry in leadership roles including Reconnaissance Scout Platoon Leader, military advisor to Iraqi security forces, Troop Commander, and Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General. He is a three-time Bronze Star recipient for combat leadership in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Army Commendation with Valor device for actions in Baghdad.
Following the Army, Garrett was in the private sector in the medical device field as a Spine Associate at NuVasive in Los Angeles, CA. Garrett assisted neuro and orthopedic surgeons with instrumentation, spinal implants and constructs during surgery before returning to service in the non-profit sector.
Garrett serves as the Director of Community Engagement for VETLANTA where he works to build relationships with organizations in the community to make Atlanta the premier city for America’s veterans.
Garrett is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and is currently in the Executive MBA program at Emory University where he serves at the Director of External Relations for the Emory Veterans Association.
