HOLLY BEST is a Veteran Employment Coordinator at Work for Warriors Georgia. She counsels and mentors Service Members, Veterans and Spouses during their transition into civilian careers. She has been working in the Transitioning Veterans field for 5 years with various programs throughout Texas, Nevada and now Georgia.
Holly co-founded the Job Club of Reno for the Homeless Veterans and co-chaired the Carson City Veteran Community Council, a collaboration of Veteran f
riendly/affiliated organizations in the Carson City, Reno area. More recently (in Atlanta) she started the Homelessness Among Veterans Initiative with Hire Heroes USA, and was selected to lead and develop the Employment Pillar for VETLANTA with the mission is to make Atlanta a top destination for veterans.
Work for Warriors Georgia (WFW GA), a division of the Military Family Support Branch of the Georgia National Guard (GA NG), is a free employment assistance program that prepares and connects Georgia National Guard members, transitioning Service Members, Veterans, Reservists, and Spouses in the state with employment and education opportunities.
Hire Heroes USA provides free employment services to thousands of transitioning military members, veterans and military spouses every year, and it’s the leading veteran service organization specifically targeting the issues of underemployment and unemployment among veterans. Hire Heroes USA’s personalized services include resume, networking and interview assistance, federal sector help, mock interviews, job sourcing, virtual workshops, virtual career fairs, and an exclusive job board.

Operation: Workforce is the State of Georgia’s veteran and transitioning service member employment initiative. This program serves two roles: to connect currentand former service members with the workforce system, and to connect Georgia businesses with this highly skilled workforce. This is accomplished through the Operation: Workforce website which hosts a job portal and provides access to resources. And also through partnerships with installations, chambers of commerce, higher educations, non-profits, and veteran centric groups.
The mission of Goodwill of North Georgia is to put people to work. Last year, we helped connect more than 24,000 North Georgians with jobs. Our 60 stores and 58 donation centers generate revenue to help fund job training and placement programs. When you shop, or donate, you are helping us put people to work.
Vocational Services program through the V.A. works to provide customer service to employers and vocational service providers who can help develop the VVS program offerings, often for those with a substantial interruption in work history and significant barriers to reentering the workforce.
